8 Uses Of Hydrogen Peroxide For Skin, Hair, Teeth, And Others

Hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic used for various purposes such as on skin, hairs, teeth ears etc.

NOTE- Hydrogen Peroxide should not be used to treat deep wounds, serious burns, or animal bites. Do not use in the eyes or apply over large areas of skin.


How to use Hydrogen Peroxide Solution?

Follow all directions given on the package of the product. But first of all, do consult your doctor or pharmacist about this before applying it.

NOTE- First, clean the affected area before using this product on the skin. Apply a small amount of Hydrogen peroxide product on the affected area, for 1-3 times daily as per advised by your doctor. If you need to apply a bandage after using it, then let the area dry first. Avoid getting in contact with your eyes.

a) Heals cuts and infections

In case of any infections or cuts soak that area in 3% of Hydrogen peroxide powder for 5-10 minutes for few times a day.

b) Used for a detoxifying bath

Use 3% Hydrogen peroxide in a tub filled with warm water. Soak in it for at least one and a half hour, you can drain the water and again add hot water, to maintain a water temperature. It will help you in getting rid of boils, fungus or other skin infections.

c) Stops bleeding of wounds

A 3% Hydrogen peroxide is medically used for cleaning wounds, removing dead tissue, and slows wound bleeding.

Wash the wound for 5-10 times a day.

NOTE- Do not to use the solution while you have an open wound as it may cause irritation and burning sensation on the skin.

d) Cures bird mites infections

A research found that using hydrogen peroxide in patients infected by tiny mites, effectively kills the mites on their skins. They spray the solution on their skin for two times and within a few minutes, you will get amazing results.

e) Treats sinus infections

Add a tablespoon of 3% Hydrogen peroxide into a cup of non-chlorinated water and use it as a nasal spray. But, consult a doctor first.

NOTE- DO NOT ingest Hydrogen peroxide solution in any form, it will cause harm to your body. Rinse your mouth with a diluted form of Hydrogen peroxide mixed with water. Since Hydrogen peroxide being highly reactive in nature, it will pass through your tooth’s enamel and react with the dentin and the pulp part of your teeth due to overuse.

a) Mouthwash and prevents canker sores (mouth ulcer)

A study found that hydrogen peroxide makes a very effective and less costly mouthwash. Take one full cap (the small-cap which comes with the bottle) with 3% hydrogen peroxide with liquid chlorophyll in it and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes and spit it out. This method will help in removing mucus or relieve mouth irritation during mouth ulcers.

b) Hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening

Using 3% Hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash, your teeth will be effortlessly get whitened.


c) Toothpaste

Use baking soda and add 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. You can add it to your toothpaste and brush your teeth with this paste.

Hydrogen peroxide is well known for removing earwax. Earwax is found on the outer part of the ear which prevents dust or any outside particle from entering in the ear and prevents severe infections. An excess wax collection can cause painful and itching ear.

  1. Lie down on your side. One ear should face up.
  2. Just put drops of hydrogen peroxide into your ear canal and fill it with fluid.
  3. Keep still for 5 minutes.
  4. Sit up, and take a tissue to clear off any liquid that comes out of the outer ear.
  5. Repeat this process for your other ear.

Hydrogen peroxide helps the wax to bubble up which results in the wax becoming softer, and easier to clean. You can also create a substitute solution with a 1:1 ratio of water and vinegar.

a) Add of 3% Hydrogen peroxide in warm distilled water to remove chronic yeast infections. Repeat this once to twice a week.

b) You can also take 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide and add it to a cup of water. Pour the solution carefully into the affected area.

NOTE- Do not use too much of hydrogen peroxide. This might cause inflammation to the area around the infection, which might lead to an irritation and burning sensation on your skin.

c) Fill your bathtub with water and pour in 1 pint of full-strength hydrogen peroxide in it. Now, soak in it for 10 minutes.


  1. Helps in washing and disinfecting Contact Lenses

Hydrogen peroxide is used as a cleaning solution for a no-rub contact lens. It helps in breaking down of the proteins which develop on the lenses from the eye’s immune response. This results in more comfort for those having sensitive eyes.

Hydrogen peroxide solution is used for cleaning, disinfecting, and storing your contact lenses. At first, you keep your lenses in a given basket and rinse them. Now, place the basket in its cup and fill the cup with the solution to clean your lenses.


You can use this product regularly if you want to get the most benefit from it.
